VENETIAN PALACES
The Venetian palace had a very particular structure so as to satisfy specific needs: the residence of wealthy merchants, a representative mansion, the space for the business with offices and stock rooms. Palaces were built all over the city, and there are about 200 of them alongside the banks of the Grand Canal! Entering one of these luxurious abodes is like reliving the grand dream of the families that lived there, designed them and decorated them with paintings and precious textiles. We shall visit some of the most significant palaces, such as Palazzo Pesaro Fortuny, Palazzo Querini, Grimani, Ca' d'Oro.
